If I could pick one word to describe Dr. Mahmoudieh and his staff, it would be “visionary.” It takes compassion, energy and a huge financial investment to bring all of the necessary equipment and professionals to one place so that the patient doesn’t have to travel, and that’s what Dr. M has done. For me, that meant savings in time, money and stress so that instead of wearing myself out being on the road, I could actually rest and do things I wanted while I was at home. When I first came to them, I had a large tumor and a very aggressive form of cancer. They took it seriously and wasted no time. There was a lot of testing that had to be done at the beginning, and the referral process was amazing! Within days, all of my diagnostics were set up and in less than 2 weeks, I received a call from their Stanford associate who had designed my chemo plan. He reviewed everything with me and I was able to ask him questions before the first treatment. Even though I had a less than ideal payment situation when I started, everyone at the office was very kind and went the extra mile to work with me and make sure I got all the care I should. Like other reviewers have said, the chemo team is so positive and super careful about what they are doing, and have been absolutely key to my healing. I am very thankful for those ladies and the way they celebrate each person’s progress! I was also able to do my follow up injections, radiation treatments and CT scans there and felt like all the technicians really make an effort to be gentle and caring. Also, at every chemo clearance and checkup, Dr. M asks a lot of questions to make sure I am doing OK, so I have felt like he has monitored for possible complications really well. I also feel free to ask my own questions. No office can be perfect, so if I feel something may have been overlooked, I ask. I love that they are patient-centered and are always finding ways to improve what they do and how they work together. I seriously thank God for the care I have received there, and hope they will continue to develop the vision because they are offering something Merced really needs!
